Volunteer and Internship Program

The Volunteer Program has been an important part of the Nyaka program since the beginning. In 2009 alone we engaged 27 volunteers who gave their expertise, time, handiwork, and labor. volunteers

There are many ways you can contribute your time to Nyaka. Here are just a few:

On location in Uganda

In your own home town

Internships: Make serving others your life’s mission

For undergraduate students, there are endless opportunities to help build your experience through participating as an intern with Nyaka both in Michigan and in Uganda or both.

Majors include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Education
  • International/ African Studies
  • African culture, music, and oral story-telling
  • International Development/Rural Community Development
  • Public Health and HIV/AIDS prevention programs
  • Non-profit management (in East Lansing, MI and Uganda)
  • Social Work and early childhood development
